Eric Butcher Website Launch

When artist Eric Butcher was looking for a company to help him develop a website for his business we were delighted to be recommended to him by a mutual contact.

Based on that recommendation Eric approached us to discuss his requirements. He wanted to keep this website very simple, primarily as a way to showcase his artwork, allowing the images to speak for themselves. The photography of Eric’s work, mostly oil paint or graphite suspended in resin on aluminium, is dramatic and impactful and so the site has been designed to act as a showcase or setting for these eye-catching images.

Eric was clear in his initial brief that the site should be a tool of reference and not intended to sell the pieces or to generate enquiries, rather it would be simply a resource to display his work and credentials. However, our work with Eric included in-depth planning, not only to address his current need but to ‘future-proof’ the site by designing and constructing it in such a way that expansion, development and added functionality could be included simply and easily as needed in the future.

Although the website itself is simple, the detail and design specification required was incredibly precise, but we were happy to work with Eric to make sure that every pixel perfect I and T of his requirement were dotted and crossed.

We were delighted to launch the site for Eric earlier this year and to date he has found it incredibly useful, not only for his business and the promotion of his artwork, but also to develop his profile as an artist.

“After a number of variously unsuccessful experiences working with website developers I was finally introduced to Mzuri by a colleague, himself a Mzuri client. The experience has been wholly positive. In fact, little short of a revelation. As well as building me a smart new website, crucially they taught me, a self-confessed Luddite, how to use it. Mzuri patiently held my hand through the whole thing as we explored the issues and opportunities.

I used to consider my website to be a slightly tedious but necessary evil, something that took me away from what I like doing, and do best. Now I am not only an enthusiastic updater and maintainer of my site (jaw-droppingly easy with Mzuri’s Client Management System), but I have changed the way in which I communicate both with customers and the art world more generally. My virtual presence is more sophisticated and consequently far more useful to me.”
