The women\u2019s world cup, Wimbledon, the cricket world cup and\nthe netball world cup are just a few of the exciting sporting events happening\nin 2019. As well making great viewing, they also create a unique opportunity for\nbrands to embed themselves in the audience\u2019s psyche through sponsorship, influencer\nmarketing and celebrity endorsement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For the Women\u2019s world cup Nike lead the conversation after\nthe success of the US team\u2019s victory. Its last advert shared via twitter\ncelebrating the win has had over 378,000 shares and likes combined from 20.5\nmillion views! The tournament certainly captured the imagination of England\nsupporters \u2013 with viewing figures for England\u2019s quarter final a record\n7.6million in the UK. Following the success of the tournament, investment into\nwomen\u2019s football is at an all-time high and attitudes towards equality are\nmoving in the right direction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A fashionable take on sport<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wimbledon is as well known for its tennis as it is for its\nstrict \u2018all white\u2019 dress code. The dress code limits the amount of colour that\ncan be featured and relates to clothing as well as footwear, hats and\nsweatbands. Generally, in sport we are used to seeing large logos emblazoned on\nour sporting stars, whereas when it comes to Wimbledon brands need to find an\nunderstated way to feature their branding. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Officials are also bound by a strict dress code, with\nlong-time official supplier Ralph Lauren once again designing this year\u2019s uniform,\ninspired by the authentic and distinct Wimbledon brand. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It wasn\u2019t just the officials Ralph Lauren designed for, they\nalso created a Wimbledon\ncollection<\/a> for tennis lovers to purchase and be a part of the\nchampionships, even if they weren\u2019t able to attend a match. Other Official\nSuppliers of Wimbledon include Slazenger, Robinsons, IBM and Lanson \u2013 all of\nwhom create unique and specific Wimbledon campaigns and activations to enhance\ntheir brand awareness.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It\u2019s widely accepted that the game of cricket originated in\nthe south-east of England and over the years it has grown to become our\nnation\u2019s second most popular spectator sport. As the Cricket World Cup 2019 Champions, no doubt brands\nwill be queueing up to get involved with the sport, the England team and\ncrucially at gross roots level to build future stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Change the Game <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

BBC sport has included Netball in part of its \u2018Change the Game\u2019 campaign which focuses on women\u2019s sport. Their campaign for the Netball world cup focuses on the intensity of the game using the 3 second rule (for those who do not know Netball, you are only allowed to hold the ball for a maximum of 3 seconds, otherwise it gets given to the opposition) to demonstrate this. The campaign features players from the England, Scotland and Northern Ireland teams.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
