The initial brief was to create a typographic logo to present Edward Cooke Family Law as an experienced and professional, yet friendly and approachable firm. Offering a dedicated family mediation service, Edward Cooke often meets with children in the mediation process, so it was important that the look and feel was not too serious, stiff, corporate or daunting.
A range of initial concepts were presented to the client, including some typographic versions and some with an additional logo element. The final selection included a logo design based on speech marks depicting a family with the child at the centre – demonstrating that each family member has their own perspective and point of view.
A completely new, bespoke, CMS-controlled and responsive website was then designed using the logo and corresponding colour palette. The colours were selected with the professional yet child-friendly brief in mind. Darker colours bringing the experienced, professional look, with some lighter shades ensuring a softer, friendlier feel.
The website was designed with adults and children facing a difficult period in life front of mind; simplicity and ease of navigation were key. Also, a dedicated children's section of the website provides access to resources specifically for children.
Two versions of letterheads were designed using the new logo and colour palette. One for family law and one specifically for mediation.
In addition, we worked on social profiles, business cards, compliment slips, customer forms and office signage to complete the initial launch.
