Developing an existing website to support a growing organisation

CPMS Rail was established in 2012, offering a range of services to the rail industry, from the provision of full project solutions to traditional project consultancy and the supply of specialist, highly skilled project resources. The company has grown rapidly since its inception, and as a result has increased its service offering. Considering the external communication of these ongoing developments, CPMS recently evolved their name to the all-encompassing CPMS Group.

Having worked with CPMS since they were founded across brand, print and digital projects, we were delighted to assist with communication of their updated external messaging, notably with a fresh wave of developments to their website to reflect the new capacity of their organisation. Head of Communications and Marketing at CPMS Group, Lara Correia, spearheaded the project and tasked us with updating their website to accommodate an increasing amount of content, to develop and include visuals to support their messaging, as well as further developing the comprehensive CMS already in place on the site.

Creating a better user experience

Working in conjunction with the CPMS team, we analysed and reworked appropriate elements of the structure of the site to support the new content, expanding the navigation and creating quick links to key areas, creating a simple and effective user experience.

As part of the scope of work and bringing the site up to date and in line with current best practice, we widened the site and of course ensured all new content was optimised  across all devices.

In addition, we created a series of bespoke iconography and illustrations to differentiate their growing service area and allow easy navigation to the content for the user.

A seamless changeover

As with all website projects, there were many elements to consider, from content to user experience, iconography and image sourcing, to SEO management during and after the move to the new domain name, all requiring careful management to ensure a seamless changeover.
