St Ives – shortlisted for TES Award

We are delighted to announce that our lovely client, St Ives School, Haslemere, has been shortlisted for the pre-prep / prep school of the year award at the prestigious 2018 TES Independent School Awards! This is a fantastic achievement as they are one of only 8 schools nominated, with competition from the country’s finest and most respected of the country’s 620 independent schools.

The school is extremely proud of the high academic standards they set in a non-selective environment, but they have always emphasised that this represents only part of developing the whole child. The breadth of wider experiences offered at St Ives allows all their children to develop as individuals in many ways beyond this. The school’s broad curriculum is enriched and enhanced by a fantastic array of activities and events which have provided one of many good reasons for their nomination of this award. Their magical Forest School, educational visits, focus on local community and whole school charity days are just a few examples of how they broaden the perspective of their pupils and develop fully rounded children.

At St Ives they provide opportunities for each child to discover, develop and showcase their individual interests and talents whether that be in music, art, sport or other areas. In this way, they provide a truly nurturing and inspiring environment so that their pupils form a general life-long love of learning and naturally achieve and progress.

Ann Mroz, the Editor of the TES has said “Independent education in this country is world class.  It’s one of Britain’s great success stories.  And those shortlisted for the TES Independent School Awards are the cream of the crop.  This year we had more entries than ever, the standard was the best yet and the competition fiercer than ever before.  To be shortlisted is an extraordinary achievement.”

St Ives Chair of Governors, Graham Harvey-Browne, has also said of the news “We are delighted and very proud to hear this wonderful news.  This is a testament to the dedication and hard work of Mrs Goldsworthy, Miss Smith and all of the teaching and support staff at St Ives and is a clear indicator of the continued success of the school in producing well rounded young people who are inspired and supported in achieving their potential.”

The overall winner will be announced on 8th February 2018, but in the mean-time we are super proud to have worked alongside such a dedicated and talented team and would like to congratulate them for this extremely well-deserved nomination in recognition of their enthusiasm, innovative ideas, imagination and achievements. Well done to Kay Goldsworthy and the whole team at St Ives!
