If our title made you think of Meg Ryan and the famous cafe scene in When Harry Met Sally, then we have caught your attention for all the right reasons.
Our latest to-the-wire deadline was thrown at us by The Yes Yes Company, from none other than Mzuri alumna Zoe. The Yes Yes Company are passionate about intimate health and serious about sexual pleasure and we were thrilled to hear from Zoe and intrigued by the brief. Our mission was to create a positioning advert for the company’s organic lubricants for the pleasure market in their first full page advert for The Amorist.
Taking an all-team approach given the tight deadline, we brainstormed, created a mood board for three different concepts, then working closely with Zoe, developed the final design ready for the deadline.
Zoe had this to say about the project:
‘As an ex-Mzuriite myself I knew that I only had to make one call when presented with an impossible deadline for an advert to be published in a high end magazine. My confidence was rewarded as I knew it would be once I had spoken to Katherine.
The publication in question, The Amorist, targets an audience and industry that YES has yet to fully explore and so we needed something original, impactful and brand aligned without looking like our other, more clinical advertising collateral. We knew that we wanted something sensuous, dangerous, illicit and inviting, and the brief referred to Liaisons Dangerouses, A Midsummer Night’s Dream to give context. They nailed it.
The designs that the Mzuri team came up with in less than three days were astonishing and exactly what I had in mind. They took my brief and delivered it back to me in design form, looking better than I could have imagined. As a result we met the deadline with some amazing artwork and taken a first strong step into developing brand awareness with a new audience all inside three days. Thank you Team Mzuri!’
