Jon Evans, the founder of Surrey-based indepdendent chartered surveyors Heritage Surveys, is passionate about historic buildings. Having spent many years as Director and Head of the Heritage Conservation Team for a leading property consultancy in the city, he made the deicison to start his own business in 2009.

After 10 years in business, Jon and business partner Steve Brewer decided it was time to develop their brand identity and online presence to truly reflect the expertise, passion and professional service that they provide for their clients.

We were thrilled to be asked to work on this project, helping Jon and Steve to achieve the new vision for Heritage Surveys and support their plans for growth and development.

Before approaching the new website, the brand identity was in need of some restoration work of its own. Central to the design approach was to achieve an architectural aesthetic with a nod to the specialist restoration work the company undertakes, without compromising on the contemporary styling. 

Working through iterations with the team, the font, device and colour palette were refined to achieve the elegant new identity.


With the new identity in place, it was time to develop the website. Heritage Surveys undertake restoration work on some of the UK's most beautiful buildings, so we wanted to ensure the photography of the buildings and the work took centre stage.

Using our bepsoke CMS, we agreed the objectives and requirements of the website followed by the site map to ensure the scope of the deisgn and build met their needs.

With the speed in which technology, consumer behaviour, the economy and many other factors can change, it's vital that a website is built with the future in mind.

It may not be possible to predict what your business will need from its website; whether it's the addition of e-commerce functionality, a new forum or the integration of a YouTube channel - however, choosing a bespoke platform provides you with greater freedom to develop your site to your exact needs as they evolve.
